Lions Find New Ways To Help!
A couple of years ago we identified the need to get more books into the hands of Rome Kids. We read about the little libraries that were available to people in their communities and thought this might be a great idea and a good way to get books into the hands of kids. Over time, we also realized that people were having a hard time getting food and other things, so we added a bit of that too. We currently have two boxes located near the Rome Arts and Community Center (RACC), here in Rome! For more information on what we do with books, please see our Literacy Initiative Program page!

Putting Extra Plastic To Good Use
As part of our one of our international campaigns, protecting the environment, we found a tremendous program that allows us to turn in recyclable plastic and get a bench made out of the same materials! We have to turn 500lbs. of plastic into recycling centers here in NY within a 6 month period. When we do that we get a bench like the one pictured. We are currently working on our third bench! If you would like to help, you can reach out to a Lion, or turn it in at the RACC.
