Mike is currently the Rome City Historian.
"I was born and raised here in Rome. I have always had a passion for local history. I started doing photography around 10 years ago as a hobby. My pictures have been published in several books, calendars and even have been broadcast on television news stations. I donated several pictures to the City of Rome which are on permanent display in City Hall. I created and maintain the Facebook group People and Places of Rome New York, which I started in 2009. There are currently over 20,000 members in the group. The group highlights the history of Rome with pictures and information to promote our city. I served on the board at the Rome Historical Society for six years. Three of those years I served as Board President. There's no place like Rome!"
Welcome To Our Little Corner of the Internet!
The Rome Lions Club is an active club in the city of Rome, New York, USA. We have been around a long time, and recently celebrated our 70th Anniversary! Over the years we have helped many people get hearing aids and glasses, taken care of various environmental projects, fed the hungry, and provided ways for the differently abled to socialize at functions we have sponsored and hosted. We are always looking for ways to help others as we can.
Lions Club International as a whole and as of this writing in 2020, has been in service to the world for 103 years. It is the largest service group in the world. We have over 1.4 million members, and we have helped as a collective group over 85 million people this year alone! (source: Lionsclubs.org)
