Major Campaigns of the Lions Club
Prevention & Preservation of Eyesight
The Lions are renowned for their efforts on this front ever since Helen Keller asked them to take up the cause. Millions of people have been helped. We continue to assist those who need glasses and hearing aids, and we collect both at our drop-off sites.
Helping the Hungry
Our Lions Club has been able to assist local food banks and missions to help get people fed. Not only have we helped served people directly, our fundraisers have allowed us to donate significant monies over the years for these programs.
Helping the Environment
We have been able to plan trees, clean up areas around Rome either by picking up litter, or by working on specific areas. Currently, we are collecting plastic in order to receive our third bench made out of recycled plastic. That will bring our tally to 1500 pounds that we have recycled when it is all said and done!

The Peace Poster Contest
This is an annual event where local kids are given a theme and asked to draw a picture that depicts the theme. These posters are entered into competition and voted on at a Local, District, National, and International levels if they make it that far into the competition.
Pediatric Cancer
This is a newer campaign for the Lions Clubs.
Diabetes
Our STRIDES campaign is all about awareness, education and treatment of this huge public health problem.
